Vetviksanda is always stunning in the sunshine, no matter what the temperature.
But, we got to experience it in summer temps this time 😎🌞👌

Just 1 day after the ELANE crew arrived from overseas, we headed out to this secluded beach on the west coast of Norway since the weather was amazing! On this side of the country, you don't let this kind of day slide through your fingers because you don't know when you might get it again!

If we were to hike here from the nearest parking lot, it would take us about 4 hours, but we had the luxury of sailing there in only about 1 & 1/2 hrs and leaving the same evening ⛵👌

I got so warm sunbathing that I actually took a dip in the water, which was only 15°C - compared to the water in the Caribbean that I had gotten used to at about 27°C!!

All in all, a great way to spend our time all together again!! 👌

The day had FINALLY arrived when ELANE & the ELANE crew would be reunited on Norwegian soil after being apart for about 2 months and after we, together, sailed almost 2 years out of country, about 15,000nm to about 16 countries!! 🎉🇳🇴⛵

We were overwhelmed with emotion & were so happy to be together again. Our good friend, Alf-Kåre, managed to come for the occasion early in the morning on late notice, too!

I took a little trip to Sandefjord with Nikolai & Espen in order to get the house ready for new renters before meeting the rest of the ELANE crew to sail the coast of Norway back home.

Driving from west to east was like driving from Autumn into Summer. It was literally 4-5 (or more) degrees C warmer.

The flowers were blooming, people in sundresses & sunglasses and it was also time to celebrate Mid-Summer.

I got to stay with my aunt & uncle, meet some friends, go to some mid-summer festivities & take a little trip to downtown Tønsberg.
Not to shabby driving over the mountains & back from Måløy either 😍

The boys got to visit some friends they've been missing dearly. Niko actually ended up sleeping over at friends' houses every night, so I ended up hardly seeing him at all 😅
Great little taste of life in Sandefjord again!

Driving across the country in Norway (between Førde & Måløy, to be exact), is not just a road trip - it's a sight-seeing trip!! 😍🇳🇴

It was not easy being the driver when surrounded by so much beauty, but much rather that than not!

We saw waterfalls, glaciers, fjords, mountains, cows, sheep, cute villages, ferries & clean nature.

The west coast of Norway is truly the epitome of Norwegian nature. Don't mind driving hours here at all... Even when stopped by a heard of cows or sheep 🐂🐑 😅 (like we did on the way to Førde).

I couldn't put my camera down on this nature trail leading to the Hulde Waterfall.😍

Along the trail we passed through a village museum & once we got to the forest, there was a box with buttons to push to hear the sounds of the various forest animals one could find. They even exhibited pictures or real-sized examples of animals like the hare, the fox & some large ear replicas (rabbit, maybe) that we could try out the hearing of. Fun!

The scenery was breathtaking & idealic once we caught the first glimpse of the 90m high waterfall, one of the most photographed waterfalls in Norway. I got wet standing several hundred meters away from it. Powerful waterfall! It looked so idealistic with the Golden flowers lining the river & the cows grazing on the lush grass in front of the waterfall. 😍

On the trail leading back to the car, we happened upon a heard of sheep that weren't too comfortable with us walking through, it sounded like. They were very loud! The kids thought it was fun to split them up by running through the midst of them, but we reigned them in soon after (the kids, I mean 😉).
Nice to spend more family time out in the nature together!
